Cedar Creek is poorly represented by the Umbelliferae. The most conspicuous member of this Family  is Cicuta maculata (Water Hemlock).  It occurs with frequency along a number of marsh edges (MEM…)..  C. bulbifera (Bulb-bearing Hemlock) occurs at marsh and pond edges but is considerably less common. Osmorhiza claytonii (Sweet Cicely) is common in a few mesic woodlots (Crones Knoll, Lab Woods, AndW) but not nearly as common as in oak forests elsewhere in Minnesota. Sanicula marilandica (Black Sanicle) is found in lowland woods east of Crone’s Knoll and elsewhere. Zizia aptera (Heart-leaved Alexander) is an uncommon yellow-flowered umbellifer of wet meadows margins.  Cryptotaenia canadensis (Honewort), while generally abundant in mesic forests, has only been seen at spotty locales along trails through North Section.
