Visiting Cedar Creek

Scheduling special tours

If you lead a group in a high school, college class, or other organization, you may schedule a tour of the habitats and/or experiments being conducted at Cedar Creek. Our naturalist, Dr. John Haarstad, or other researcher will present a slide show (if you want), then take the group to some of the many places of interest (Cedar Bog Lake, Beckman Lake Bog, Savanna and Burn Units, Biodiversity Experiment, etc). Restrooms are available at the Lawrence Laboratory building, and there is a small picnic site available as well. Small groups (less than 20 people) are best, as many of the tours are along trails or boardwalks through wetlands, and a large group becomes too strung out to hear well. Please contact Dr. Jeffrey Corney, Associate Director, by phone at 763-434-5131 or by email at jcorney@umn.edu to schedule a tour.
