Description:
In July 1999, belowground biomass was sampled using one 2 inch diameter core
from 0-20 cm and 2-40 cm.  Cores were taken at eight points (4 in the canopy, 4
out of the canopy) in 9 plots of E142.  The roots were washed and sorted to
coarse, crown, and fine.  These samples were dried and weighed, and will be
ground separately by plot, canopy position, and depth.   All points and root
types in one canopy position will be ground together to get one amalgamated
sample.
