Description:
Seed addition species were removed from the whole subplot before formation of
viable seed in order to prevent dispersal of seed. The species removed were
Lolium multiflorum, Setaria viridis, Melilotus alba, Chenopodium album, and
Medicago lupulina. Aboveground biomass of seed addition species was obtained by
removing the plants from the plot and clipping off the roots. Plants were
harvested between 7July2000 and 28July2000. The biomass was dried and weighed.
Biomass from plots which were bareground plots in E120 was ground.
